NASDAQ-listed Infosys is expanding its Philippine operations with the establishment of additional delivery centers this year.
In a briefing, Ritesh Idnami, Infosys BPO Philippines chief operating officer, said the company plans to expand its delivery center to 3,000 seats from the current 1,100 seats.
The India-based company has one delivery center in Metro Market Market Mall in Taguig City that began operations in 2007.
Madhusudan Menon, Infosys BPO Phils. center head, said the company is looking at establishing three more delivery centers, citing possible facilities in Clark, Pampanga and Quezon City.
“We’ve currently shortlisted three properties around Metro Manila. The first phase will be second half of the year and another center by the end of the calendar year,” he said.
With the expansion, Menon said the company’s revenues could grow by 100 percent this year.
It expects to have generated $23 million in revenues during its past fiscal year, which ends in March.
“We’re very excited about the prospects of growing our business in the Philippines. We believe we have a substantial base for growth. We already see significant demand,” Idnami said.
Infosys BPO is an end-to-end service provider across industries such as banking, insurance, media, retail, manufacturing, automotive and others with a focus on customer service, contact center, collections, sales and fulfillment, finance and accounting and legal process outsourcing.
“We would like the Philippine operations to be relevant in BPO business. It means it should contribute 8 to 10 percent of our revenues over the next 18 to 24 months,” Idnami said.
At present, the Philippines contributes five percent to six percent of the company’s overall revenues. For fiscal year 2008 to 2009, its revenues reached $316 million. Besides the Philippines, Infosys also has centers in India, Czech Republic, China, Poland, Thailand, Mexico, the US and Brazil, and employs 17,400 people serving 80 clients.
